Christmas 2007!!

We had a great Christmas with Curtis's family and my family here! We made snowflakes, played many games, opened gifts and stockings and ate way too much food! The food overconsumption was evident in one of Nora's comments...she had just entered the room when I was eating something and she shouted, "Mommy!!! Are you eating again?" It was quite hilarious!
It's taken me a while to post these pictures because there are soooo many to choose from! That's why the pictures are much smaller this time! (Just click on a picture for a larger view)

The other day, I was wrapping some Christmas presents, and Nora wanted to have the bag of bows to "wrap mommy's present". She took them to her room and came out exclaiming "Mommy! I'm your present!"

BELL_Hannah Amelia Bell passed away on Monday December 3, 2007 at the age of 84 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Helen Graham; and her husband, Walter Bell. Hannah is survived by her children: Graham (Wendy) Bell, Weyburn, Stewart (Kathe) Bell, Chicago, Il.USA, Rodney (Linda) Bell, Winnipeg, MB, Rhonda Bell, Regina; chosen daughter: Geraldine Bell; seven grandchildren: Charlotte Bell, Selena (Curtis) Tyndall, Stacy Bell, Kendra & Michael Bell, Corbin and Harrison Bell; two great-grandchildren, Nora and Levi Tyndall; one brother: Sam (Marion) Graham, Dartmouth, N.S., chosen sister: Alma Schiller, Weyburn; as well as many nieces and nephews. Hannah Amelia Bell was born on June 3, 1923 to Robert and Helen Graham at Penzance Saskatchewan. After receiving training as a teacher, she taught for a short time and then took a bookkeeping course. On November 7, 1953 she married Walter Bell. After working in Regina as a bookkeeper, she moved to the farm near Shamrock SK with Walter. In 1973 they moved to Weyburn where she worked at Western Christian College and then on to Fred Millekers office until her retirement. Retirement for Hannah was a full-time job, with the many organizations she shared her talents with. Hannah was a member of the Church of Christ as well as the 4H clubs, Soo Line Historical Society, Weyburn Genealogical Society, Weyburn Arts Council, The United Way, Western Christian College-Women's Service Club, S.E.S.A.C.R.S.(South East Saskatchewan Association for Culture, Recreation and Sport) and the Crocus Quilters. Hannah loved quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, crosswords, gardening and was always up for a game of scrabble. A visitation for Hannah will be held on Wednesday evening, December 12, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. from RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn. The Funeral Service for Hannah will be held at the Church of Christ, Weyburn, SK on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Scott Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, SK. For family and friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Hannah to the United Way or to Western Christian College-Women's Service Club. O' Christmas Tree...O' Christmas Tree

I just have to laugh at our "Charlie Brown" Christmas tree! Maybe we'll get a new one for next year. But it's actually nice to have a tree small enough to be put up out of reach!
The kids each got to pick something new for the tree this year...Nora picked the purple garland (her favorite color) and Levi picked the Nutcracker ornament he's holding in the top picture.

They enjoyed putting all the ornaments on the tree, but mostly they enjoyed the little singing Christmas tree that I got on clearance last year after Christmas. He dances and sings "O' Christmas Tree". (I hope the batteries wear out soon!! LOL!)

A Nora quote

This morning, I put Nora's breakfast on the table in front of her, and she said, "I have to wait." I asked her, "Why do you have to wait?" And she said "I have to wait for my mouth to stop talking!"

First snow of the year

The kids were very excited to wake up to snow this morning, so they just had to go outside and play! They made snow angels, ran in the snow, and we all made a snow man!

Free pictures at Walmart

As a promotion for the "Bee Movie" and "Honey Nut Cheerios", Walmart had a backdrop set up and they were taking a picture and giving a free 4x6 print! They had these cute little bee antennas to wear, so both kids got their picture taken. They turned out kinda cute!

Happy Halloween!

We all had a great time trick or treating tonight! We started off the evening by just going down our cove, but it was pretty cold and windy. We went to the mall, and there were lots of kids there! Nora and Levi had a lot of fun, and they participated in the costume contest, and got a goodie bag for entering (they didn't win). Everyone who saw the kids said how cute they were and that they loved their costumes! When we got home from the mall, Nora still wanted to go some more, and it wasn't windy anymore, so Curtis took her around town a bit and I put Levi to bed!






We were out for quite a while, so we didn't get many kids here...anyone want some more candy, we have lots left over!

Pumpkin Carving!

The kids each picked out their own pumpkins today with Curtis, and could hardly wait until I got home from work!
They both enjoyed taking the "insides" out, but preferred to use spoons rather than their hands!





Nora drew the face all by herself, she said she wanted a girl pumpkin! I think she did a great job!
Levi scribbled on his pumpkin all by himself and that was definitely his favorite part of this process!
They both wanted to keep the cut out pieces for their new "pumpkin puzzle"! LOL
It was a lot of fun and I think that the pumpkins turned out great!

I figured it was time for a new look for our blog. Hope you like it as much as I do!

I just wanted to show the pictures of Nora with her "toilet trophies". Potty training has been quite a process but these trophies seemed to be the incentive that made it all click!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Myself, Nora, Levi and Charlotte went to Weyburn for Thanksgiving weekend (Curtis couldn't come because of his work schedule), and we all had a really fun time! We had a great visit and the kids really enjoyed spending time with Grandma and Grandpa!

A brother with another mother...

Nora and Levi were downstairs, and Nora was "reading" him a story. I guess Levi didn't want to sit for the whole story, because soon I heard crying and I went to investigate. I asked Nora, "Where is Levi?". She replied, "I put him in Time Out!" I soon found him crying and standing in the corner of his closet where Nora must've put him to "serve his time". LOL! Poor guy!
